Unveiling an Unusual Steam Game Trial: Playing as a Turdy Character with the Goal to Arrive at the Toilet

Steam Next Fest is now live, and players have encountered plenty of interesting indie games. However, one stands out for its offbeat concept. Called Unko Technica, this old-school styled side-scrolling game features a protagonist that is literally a turd trying to navigate to a commode. In case you're wondering, "Unko" translates to "poop."

The gameplay is straightforward: just use a jump control. In one hundred fifty challenges, encounter tough enemies and visit a store to buy customizations for your dung hero.

Time your movements precisely, as a mistake requires starting over. Bounce off air pockets to launch yourself higher, navigate fragile surfaces, and touch switches to unlock new areas. Gather UN-KOINS for buying tougher levels where the action gets crazy.

Visually, the experience features eye-catching level designs and catchy music score. Its minimalist visual style with moving geometric shapes could recall gamers of beloved games like Earthbound.

While it's difficult to name previous releases where you are a coiled turd, interactive entertainment often incorporated scatological themes. For instance, in Death Stranding, players create grenades from character droppings. Examples include Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved employ dung as plant food. And of course, such content is present extensively in the role-playing game The Stick of Truth.

Putting aside its humorous idea, Unko Technica has already garnered notable accolades, such as winning at Bandai Namco's indie contest in 2023. This trial version is available currently on Steam, with the final release scheduled to arrive on computers this November.
