'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Ethan Galbraith resumes contest with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he reminisces about the dramatic final moments of Swansea's remarkable turnaround win against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup. That match wrapped up with Galbraith briefly donning a fan's glasses amid the pitch-side pile-on.

During the final moments of stoppage time, Galbraith cracked the upright with a powerful shot from outside the box, and Cameron Burgess quickly hammered in the rebound before racing off toward the East Stand to mark the goal, with fans swarming the players.

Extraordinary Turnaround

The victory completed an extraordinary turnaround given the Welsh side had trailed 2-0 midway through the second half. In the celebrations, there was some minor mishaps. The midfielder recalled, "There was a fan trying to get our attention and we were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a light-hearted moment putting them on. We are on the pitch as footballers but we're individuals, too, so to have a joke with the fans is always good."

Pep Guardiola Test

The victory secured a fourth-round fixture at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, a team Galbraith came close against at the same stage of the FA Cup with Leyton Orient in February. Galbraith had an excellent perspective when Orient took the lead in spectacular fashion, with Jamie Donley's first-time shot from about way out going in via the woodwork and the opposition keeper. Many argued that it was credited as an own goal.

"You would have hoped they would've given it to him for having a go from that far out," commented Galbraith, who played in the middle before moving to right defensive wing after the team changed tactics. That meant competing with the England international, with whom he traded tops, and the winger was among the opposition who praised the way Orient attacked the game.

Guardiola's System

"Fitness-wise they are exceptional but even the basics and basic skills, they can just do it over and over again," Galbraith says. "It seems as if they complete every delivery and they are adept at dictate and neutralize a game. You can think you're holding your own and then suddenly they will just thread a ball between defenders without you even noticing. You have to be focused at all times of the game. It requires a strong mentality and attention just to keep pace."

New Chapter

The Welsh side sought to acquire Galbraith in January and secured his signature to secure him in the summer in a significant move. He made a name as a popular figure across two seasons at Orient and has rapidly achieved similar status in his new home. At his previous team he reunited with Richie Wellens, who earlier gave Galbraith his debut prolonged spell in professional games on loan at his loan club from United. Then came a temporary move at lower division the Manchester club, before he departed Old Trafford.

Development Path

"I was probably a bit naive going into men's football. I think many athletes would say youth team games is entirely separate. Sometimes it appears the ball is moved without serious challenge. You see few tackles or duels. Once you start playing professional matches you have to adapt rapidly."

Country Call-ups

He has demonstrated that growth for both domestically and internationally, excelling for the Green and White Army, who remain in contention for the World Cup next summer via the knockout phase and for whom he has been selected in the last several matches, including home and away fixtures against Germany. The ex-coach, Galbraith's previous international manager, offered the supreme accolade, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he handles the football and his ability to spot a decisive through ball.

Humble Beginnings

It has been an incredible journey for the player from the neighborhood in the Belfast suburb, just outside Northern Ireland's main city, who used to see his father, the elder Galbraith, also a engine room operator, play for his father's team.

Manchester United Experience

The player's only game for United came in Central Asia in 2019, a European competition trip to the Kazakh capital, where they featured on an synthetic surface and the venue ceiling was shut owing to the weather of bitter cold. "It was a lengthy journey and it was freezing," he recalls, grinning. "The week before, several youth players and I worked out jointly, so that aided our adjustment. Just to join the main group and earn some playing time at the end was incredible."

Moving On

How hard was it to leave United, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged a teenager? "This turned out fairly simple, because I got to the stage where I knew I couldn't establish myself at the senior squad. I'm very appreciative for the experience gained but it got to the point where I believed I needed to go my own route, drop down the leagues and play professional soccer. Now I'm steadily working my way back up."

New Environment

This occurs during the early part of the afternoon at the team's practice facility but Galbraith has an appointment at 5pm: a learner's exam, another step towards getting on the road. Until recently to the local area, the 24-year-old was a constant rider in Swansea's nicknamed team minibus, a team vehicle driven by team personnel, the transport team, which ferries players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"My companions include a teammate, Ronald, Malick Yalcouyé – Melker Widell used to be in it but has got his license. It's enjoyable to interact with the guys but I'm planning to be the subsequent individual out of the minibus and behind the wheel. His teammate enjoys practical jokes; he's constantly causing mischief."

Fan Interactions

While playing for his former club, Galbraith would travel alongside followers on public transport after starting his journey at the area he lived in. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
